About the Role
DPDZero is looking for an experienced and motivated Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale our digital collections and recovery platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, values clean architecture, and enjoys working across both backend and frontend systems.
You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to build scalable backend systems and delightful user experiences, while also taking full ownership of performance, reliability, and maintainability. You’ll play a key role in mentoring engineers, solving real-world problems, and shaping the future of a fintech product used at scale.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams to turn product requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions
- Design APIs and systems with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to technical standards, code reviews, and system documentation
- Own features or technical areas end-to-end — from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring
- Make improvements in existing systems for scalability, observability, and fault tolerance
- Mentor and support other engineers through feedback, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Node.js, etc.) with a strong understanding of CS fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with frontend technologies like React, Vue, or Angular, and a good eye for UX/UI
- Hands-on experience working with modern relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB), including schema design and query optimization
- Familiarity with engineering best practices: code reviews, documentation, CI/CD, performance monitoring, and automated testing
- Proven track record of owning features or technical areas end-to-end, from design to deployment and monitoring
Nice to have
- Experience working in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized setups (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Contributions to internal tooling, architecture, or cross-functional initiatives
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, product-focused environment
