About the Role

DPDZero is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale our digital collections and recovery platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, values clean architecture, and enjoys working across both backend and frontend systems when needed.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to build scalable backend systems and well-structured APIs, while also taking full ownership of performance, reliability, and maintainability. You’ll play a key role in mentoring engineers, solving real-world problems, and shaping the future of a fintech product used at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to turn fuzzy product requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions
  • Design APIs and systems with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to technical standards, code reviews, and system documentation
  • Own features or technical areas end-to-end — from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring
  • Drive improvements in existing systems for scalability, observability, and fault tolerance
  • Mentor and support other engineers through feedback, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance
  • Help set standards, guide tooling decisions, and shape engineering direction


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Node.js, etc.) with a strong understanding of CS fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience working with modern relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB), including schema design and query optimization
  • Familiarity with engineering best practices: code reviews, documentation, CI/CD, performance monitoring, and automated testing
  • Proven track record of owning features or technical areas end-to-end that handle large-scale traffic, from design to deployment and monitoring
  • Experience mentoring engineers and helping shape team culture


Nice to have

  • Experience working in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized setups (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, product-focused environment
